Arbuckle Mountain Area Chapter
Area Description

Arbuckle Mountain Area Chapter home is located in Ardmore, located halfway between Oklahoma City and Dallas at the intersection of Interstate 35 and US Highway 70.  From a practical standpoint, our focus area is limited by driving by about 45 minutes.  The Arbuckle Mountains are located generally along the east/west line of Murray and Carter Counties and extend into Johnston County.  Many of the rock formations ungulate, disappear and appear many miles away, such as in Love County on the south side of Lake Murray at Tucker's Tower, creating breathtaking rock formations that mirror their counterparts of the same formation like The Cliff Hole at Dornick Hills Country Club.  The area is generally classified as cross timbers prairie.
