Sand Plum Planting Test Patch

We wanted to see the benefits of the Blue X tubes to determine whether they could justify the expense and effort.  The product is easy to transport and assemble.  We created a patch on a gently sloping upland pasture in an area that has generally a bit more moisture than surrounding areas.  The patch was located on about and east west line so the plants in each row received about the same sun exposure.

One row was the control with no Blue X Tubes or fertilizer.  The 2nd has Blue X tubes only and the 3rd fertilizer tabs only.  The last row has both the tubes and fertilzer.

Observations -  Our initial observation is that the Blue X tubes are worth it, especially compared to the losses of the past two years to drought.  One clear advantage is that the tubes protect the young plants from over spray, and allow weed eating in places where weeds get out of control like this year with our abundant rains.
